Death toll on migrant boat sinking off Syrian coast rises to 94


The balance sheet of the migrant disaster in the Mediterranean is increasing. Syrian state television said in a statement that the number of people who lost their lives in the boat that sank off the coast of Syria rose to 94. Syria's Transport Ministry said survivors said the boat left Lebanon's Minyeh region on Tuesday for Europe with 120 to 150 people on board.

Syrian Ports General Manager Samer Qubrusli announced in a statement that the bodies of 34 people were found on the migrant boat off the shores of the Syrian port city of Tartus. Qubrusli said 14 people on the boat were rescued.
